Offerings

I provide clients:

  •  help in processing trauma (past experiences of loss and extreme stress) and

  • help in managing current and future stress that is creating anxiety and depressive symptoms.

I have structured my service offerings to help people to get to the root of their struggles so they can effect change and move forward into a flourishing life through therapy and education.

Therapy Services

Therapy

My approach to counseling is trauma-informed and integration-focused. It blends multiple methods of counseling from adaptive information processing approaches EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy blended with techniques from Art Therapy, Play Therapy, and Sandtray.

I am committed to continually growing as a counselor to give you my best. Together we will discover what best helps you most effectively meet your goals. Realizing that working through these goals will take time and effort on both of our parts, I will do my best to assist you as efficiently and effectively as possible. To aid in this endeavor, I may assign homework to help you continue to make progress between our sessions. We will revisit and adapt your treatment plan and methods, as necessary, to better meet the established or new goals.

EMDR intensive appointments are designed to support your preferred schedule and timeline for your treatment goals. They are typically three to four hours and provide concentrated therapeutic time. In a typical 55-minute therapy session, 20 to 30 minutes can able to be devoted to deep therapeutic work. Intensives accelerate months of weekly therapy progress in just a few sessions, making it time efficient and cost-effective.

EMDR intensives support the busy parent with kids doing virtual learning, the working professional who has even more on their plate since COVID, or the client who needs help now. Whatever the reason that weekly sessions won’t work for you, EMDR intensives are available to support you when you need help. Learn more about intensive sessions and packages.

EMDR Intensive Appointmensts

Adjunct EMDR

We’ve all had those moments in therapy where we feel stuck or loop on issues related to negative life experiences. It can be discouraging for both the client and the therapist. Often, when the primary therapist and client collaborate with an EMDR therapist, this partnership can help move treatment forward.

I partner with primary therapists and their clients to target their clients’ specific memories, body sensations, or limiting beliefs with EMDR. By narrowly targeting specific traumatic memories or intrusive material, brief adjunct EMDR and Brainspotting can accelerate progress in traditional therapy, help the client and the primary therapist to resolve stuck points, and enrich their ongoing work.

Adjunct therapy does not replace or interrupt ongoing therapy; it is supplemental to the primary therapeutic relationship. With adjunct EMDR and Brainspotting therapy, clients continue to receive treatment with their primary therapist. Usually, adjunct therapy is short-term (4-12 extended sessions) and desensitizes single-incident trauma or simple phobias that interfere with the client’s therapeutic gains. Treatment is scheduled in an intensive format. The success of treatment is based on clearly defined goals for the EMDR therapist, defined in collaboration with the primary therapist and client.

Speaking Services

Presentations, Courses, and Workshops

I love providing psychoeducation and sharing information to help people gain knowledge and understanding so that they can flourish.  I have presented to audiences of over 1000 including international conferences, once with an interpreter.   Hosting, as an emcee and giving impromptu and extemporaneous speeches are comfortable for me as well as using visual aids. Often, I incorporate humor and storytelling for impact with positive feedback.

Practical learning for immediate application characterizes the flavor of my courses and workshops. Each will program will contain handouts and notes to facilitate learning. I am happy to chat with you to create the workshop your organization needs.
